The George has been part of the Selfe family's history since 1997.
Alan Selfe, a village resident, first frequented The George at the age of 18. In the summer of 1979, his wife Jane joined as a barmaid. By 1997, they made the decision to become its proprietors.
Their son Mark and current landlord, joined as Bar Manager at 19, working alongside Alan, while Jane focused on the kitchen, supported by family members Ronnie and Alison.
In recent years, the Selfe family has expanded the kitchen and enlarged the restaurant with a restaurant and new Lodge area, while preserving the inn's 16th-century charm.
To enhance the family-friendly atmosphere, a playground area has been added with bouncy castles during the summer months.
